Question #2: How can I keep off water weight?
I just finished the 48-hour miracle diet and I lost 9 pounds. The only problem with this diet is that you only lose water weight, not weight from fat. So in order to keep off the weight you have to continue following a low-sodium water retention loss plan.
I know what to do. I have to stop drinking diet soda, drink 8-10 glasses of water daily, opt for low sodium or no sodium foods, exercise, eat plenty of potassium, eat unsalted nuts an lowfat dairy products, etc. etc.
The only thing the websites (where I got this information) didn't say was how many miligrams of sodium I should limit myself to daily. I heard a nutritionist on TV say that you shouldn't eat any more than 1500 miligrams, but she didn't say that was for losing water weight.
How many miligrams should I have at most?
I can't COMPLETELY cut out salt because most food does have sodium in it. Even some natural foods.

Question #4: Has anyone else been prescribed phentermine (for weight loss)? And what are your stories?
what are your opinions, tips ect.
I recently went to the national slimming clinic and have paid for a course of phentermine tables. I take one 15mg a day (shes given me two weeks supply) and it more or less completely surpresses my appetite. I was just wondering if anyone else has taken these, and what their weight loss was as a result. I have just over a stone to lose - approx19lbs and I am hoping these will give me the kick start I need to get back into feeling good and looking after myself. I had a baby 15 months ago and have been pretty lazy and sluggish about getting back into shape, even though I am more or less the weight I was previous to pregnancy, however, I feel as though I was overweight before being pregnant.
Any way - I was just wondering if anyone had some stories regarding this, how your weight loss went, any side effects or anything else (nice people only please :) )

Question #8: Gained a bit of weight after I quit smoking, need a good diet plan?
I quit smoking about 6 months ago, although I feel healthier and have more energy, and I workout every day, I've gained a bit of weight, about 20lbs since I quit. I was a 32 waist now i'm around 33-34 and none of my clothes fit me anymore : ( I don't want to waste my money on weight watchers or nutrisystem or any of that crap, and there's a MILLION weight loss books out there, so I don't even know where to start. I also realize that some of the weight i've gained is from muscle, but regardless, my stomach and sides have gotten a bit flabby, and my waist is getting too big to fit into my jeans. My arms are bigger, and my overall body muscle feels stronger and tighter, i'm still gaining too much weight on my waist, sides, and chest.
I know whole wheats and grains, no white foods, veggies, fruits, protein the size of my fist, whether it's meat, fish, or poultry, salads and all that. But I am terrible at making my own routine and sticking to it. Also concerned on what snack foods are ok to eat often, because that's been my problem, since I quit smoking, all I want to do is snack snack snack, my appetite sky rocketed after I quit and it's becoming a problem. especially after my workout, I feel really hungry, even if I drink a lot of water. and I was around 150lbs now i'm 170lbs and I'm not feeling too happy about it.
I'm just wondering if you have a diet you stick to, or a weight loss plan of your own, or even a personal trainer or dietician, anyone with some knowledge or personal experience in dieting, can you write out your daily routine that I may follow? Daily meals, snacks, exercises, etc. Also a good way to lose stomach fat, i do tons of crunches and leg flutters everyday and it's not touching my waist at all, I feel I have tight abs under the fat, but the fat isn't going anywhere. If not, could you recommend a good book to follow? I really appreciate any advice you may have to offer, thank you very much!

Question #9: Questions about neutering? Why should I/shouldn't I ?
My puppy is getting older and I have been thinking about neutering. I am not a breeder and I know this would be beneficial in a lot of ways to most dogs such as controlling pet population, keeping a dog from straying, no chance of prostate cancer, etc..but I'm wondering if there's really any benefit for my dog. I live in an apartment, so no chance of my dog wandering to knock up the neighborhood bitches in heat. He's my only dog so no worries of him tying with any of my pets. I am a responsible owner and would never leave him unattended with an unaltered female. I have talked with my vet about this so I know a little about the pros/cons, and yes I know there are thousands of dogs dying in shelters, I'm not going to breed him, please no lectures about that.. I ONLY want to hear from dog owners who have had their dog since he was a puppy, then got him neutered. Did his personality change? Did he physically change? Weight gain? Energy gain/loss? Did he stop marking? How long was recovery time and was it hard to care for him after the surgery? Things like that. Thanks in advance
I am leaning towards not neutering right now, simply because I just don't have a real reason to do it. My puppy is a humper, but I'm confident I can train him out of it. If he begins to mark, I could also train him out of it. I have researched this a lot and I don't want to feed my dog less because his metabolism slows after he's neutered, and I don't want to have this drastic surgery done on my dog. Also, I'm not sold on the whole "neuter your dog and he'll have less health issues"
Bare Nekkid TRUTH!- There are only 3 units in my building, one of the other tenants has an older male dog who is rarely in the apartment, and the other tenant has no dogs.
Sorry.. I meant to write " I don't want to have this drastic surgery on my dog, if there's no real reason for it.
UHave2BeKiddingMe- Thank you for the links and information. My first instinct was, not neuter..I don't have any reason to. But then I heard all the hype from the pro neuter/spay crowd, and felt like I'd be doing the world, and my dog a favor by neutering. You are so right, they don't tell you the negatives at all. I will continue to research and check back on any new opinions, but I'm still pretty set on not neutering. I don't want to hurt my dog because of someone else's problem, I want him to live as long and as happy/healthy as possible.

Question #10: I have a diet question about carbs and belly fat.?
I have been dieting for 9 months now, and I have lost 40 lbs, but it my belly is still not getting much smaller. It has went down, but you can see the weight loss more in my face and upper body. I have been on a low fat diet which puts the carbs higher. Is it because of the carbs my belly isn't getting smaller or something else. I have had three kids my youngest is 4 now and it's not "baby fat" anymore. HELP
I wanted to add this in my profile pic is Sara Pailn not really me so that belly isn't mine :)

Question #11: High FAT Diet--- Anorexia Recovery?
So, I think I have been struggling with anorexia-like symptoms in the past 3 months- I am 16 years old, female and a vegetarian (for about a year and a half now, not for weight-loss reasons). I used to be very athletic: 5ft 7" (170cm) fluctuating between 129.8 lbs (59kg)-134.2 lbs (61kg). However, I lost about 19.8 lbs (9kg) in 2 months during exam time (and off-season for sports) and have continued losing, now I'm down to 106.7 lbs (48.5kg).. and on bad days even less. I mainly decreased my food intake and controlled portion sizes (but nothing extreme, like I'd have yoghurt and fruit for lunch, I never skipped) but I actually was not exercising AT ALL, even though I REALLY wanted to and felt depressed because I didn't have time. As soon as my exams were over though I started running again and jumping rope.
I've realised that I'm weaker now and I cant enjoy myself the way I used to so I want to (and need to) gain weight. My Body Fat Percentage is 13.6%. The problem is that I'm still scared of gaining FAT and not just WEIGHT. I still exercise for 90 minutes about 4 times a week (basketball) and I'm thinking about joining a gym when I start gaining so that I start gaining my strength back too. I have been reading a lot about recovery and meal plans, etc and I've read that we need a lot of protein, frequent meals, increasing calories slowly, etc. However, I went to a nutritionist and she put me on this diet:
At every meal and snack:
- 2 Tbsp Black Honey
- 2 Tbsp Halva (Halawa, it's a very dense sweet)
- Milk with bananas or Guava
Breakfast:
- Sandwich (Beans/ Eggs/ Falafel/ Cheese)
- Yoghurt
- Fruit (Optional)
+ Egg
Snack:
- Cake/ Creme Caramel/ Rice pudding/ Nuts
Lunch:
- Rice/ Pasta
- Vegetables/ Salad
Snack (Same as above)
Dinner (Either like lunch or Breakfast, depending on the day)
She told me that I really need to increase my body fat (I've been missing periods for about 5 months now). But I'm so scared with all the Cakes, Halva, Honey and all that because it's unhealthy fat. I haven't told her what I've been dealing with but that diet honestly seems like too much fat and too little healthy stuff (like fruits and vegetables, beans) which I actually enjoy eating. The amount of food is overwhelming (even though she didn't specify specific amounts), but also the type of food is overwhelming too. I know with weight gain that I WILL gain fat, but I'm just wondering, is that a healthy diet? Any Recommendations?
**Sorry for the long message :D
She also said I could have chocolate for the snack. I found that weird because all the links I've read say that when you're recovering you want to avoid having too much fat!!
I'm lacto-ovo vegetarian and i used to LOVE cheeses so that might help too. Also, is the amount of starches and sugars I'll be having okay?
I Forgot to mention that she also told me to have french fries with lunch and dinner,,
